Calling All Toy Makers

Help! I was making a doll. She was even sort of cute! But she has no self esteem... she just can't hold her head up.

I made the head, then the body, then the legs, and just attached them. I suppose the head and body should be one unit? But.. that requires some planning! Eek.

How does one correctly make a doll?

First of all - there's no one way to make a doll! The one in your photo is cute. Even if you make the head and the body separatly, it's a good idea to leave the neck openings open and have the cavities be common so the stuffing has enough oomph to hole up the head. Instead of undoing your stitching, you could add a stiff collar, ruffle, or neck-something that will do the same job from the outside.
