Here's the orphan top that I finished last night at 11:30 p.m. (I describe this project in my previous post.) I wanted to use stash fabrics for the borders, but now I'm thinking that blue fabric doesn't do this quilt any favors. I don't have any other that would be better, so I'd have to go shopping. And I hate doing borders, so the thought of ripping this one off and re-doing it gives me heebie-jeebies. What do you think? Is this border acceptable, or does it take away from the quilt like I think it does? It'll go to a child or teen in an orphanage.. perhaps that child won't be so demanding about having a perfect border. (?)
When it's done (which may take several years if I need to re-do that border), it'll go to Wrap Them in Love. You can read about it here:

it's a cuddle quilt - nothing has to be perfect, just made with love. leave the border - it's fine. this is for using, not displaying on a wall.
I think the border looks fine. It is a scrap quilt so anything goes.
For giving away, it's just fine, but if I was keeping it, I would like to see something less 'in your face' ... a pale yellow keeps coming to mind. But, DONE is DONE!
Hi Carol, what a great and a speedy job you made of this! I'm very impressed at both. I think the blue works just fine. Picks up the blue in the top, and enhances it's brightness. I think it reads as 'happy' and that a good thing in a donation quilt, or any other for that matter...LOL
Great Job...do it again! Hugs, Finn
I wouldn't change a thing!
All looks fabulous to me, aren't you pleased they are together and not on in the cupboard! Tracey
What a gorgeous orphan block quilt. The lucky recipient will definitely fall in love with it.
The blue works for me Carol! It brings the whole top together well.

leave it you will never see it again when you give it away........if you were keeping it you could change it but I wouldn't worry.........
