Friday Five

Five thoughts percolating in my brain on this Friday, the 12th day of June, 2009:

1) I'm continuing to have fun making toys. I made these two yesterday and today.

2) Today I took some time to make blocks for Tammy at Sunshine. This month's colors are pink and green. I'd like to make more, but I just don't have any more time to devote to this project.

3) Last year my church sent five of us on a mission trip to Rosebud Reservation in SD. We worked through Tree of Life. This year we almost doubled our group. We are taking 9. Still working through Tree of Life, but this time we're going to Crow Creek Reservation. I'm looking forward to spending time with the other 8 people and having some new, rewarding experiences at Crow Creek. Last year's trip was great; I'm hoping for greatness again this year!

4) I started packing for the trip. I'm getting lots of laundry done while deciding what to pack. I decided to take these toys along for kids at Crow Creek, along with the clothespin dolls which I forgot to add to this collection before photographing them.

5) About one month from now our son is getting married in our back yard! I'm really being pretty good about staying calm. Having the wedding take place at our house could induce some panic (esp when I look around and see all the cleaning that needs to be done, not to mention the stuff I would like done such as painting and getting new furniture - hahaha!). I'm doing a pretty good job of keeping the panic at bay, at least for now.

Treat yourself: have someone ELSE do the cleaning!

Having a monthly house cleaner is one of my most important "treats", but essential for my current life. Couldn't live without them! And they can do any kind of cleaning you'd like (light, heavy duty "spring", specific areas). Give em a try!

Ah, packing time. That always drives me crazy...no matter where I'm going. I can never decide.

LOVE the recent toys, so happy and fun! Wow, you have some big summer plans, lucky you. Don't worry too much about the cleaning--just make the bathrooms, floors and windows sparkle and forget about painting and new furniture. People will be focused on the newlyweds, food, family and friends.
