It's Been a Quiet Day..

... in Lake Wobegon. I thought I would get so much done! I'm on spring break and have all this time on my hands! Somehow I spent 90% of my day on the computer. I have been organizing some of my photos and albums, reading blogs, and surfing for fun and profit. (The checks should start pouring in very soon.)

I managed to make one quilt block.

The day flew by, and I barely accomplished anything noticeable. Couldn't even complete the one errand I tried to do. I went to the post office to mail two packages... this particular post office is a tiny, one-person operation. It closes every day for an ungodly-long time, around the noon hour. I always forget what those times are. I thought, "well, it must be closed about noon to 1:30. Surely by now it will be open again." I arrived there at 2:20 p.m., and it was closed! Not to open until 2:30. Grrrrr. I gave up and went home. I'll mail them from a more normal post office tomorrow. Like maybe the 24-hour one at the airport. At least that one doesn't have weird hours that I have to try to memorize.

My pal over at Tubaville posted a message saying she had not much to say, and she got ten comments. So since I have just said a bunch of stuff about nothing, I'm hoping I get at least ten comments as well. Make my day and leave a comment!

I have had many days like that--usually when I am avoiding laundry or housework and find 25 other things I would rather be doing! Congratulations on finishing a block!

My post office is the same way! And then I will drive to the next town over and hit that one just as they, click, lock their doors. Drives me nuts.

Sounds like you had a very nice day.

You're now up to comment #4. This quilt block is really pretty. Love that rich wine -- looks like a great batik. I like these 3 fabrics together.
Those doggone computers. They just make the hours speed by, don't they? And then I kick myself because the hours are gone, and I didn't get anything done

PS: Don't expect things at your PO to improve as the USPS continues to cut humans - robots soon - stay tuned.

We all need days like those otherwise we'd be gibbering wrecks! Enjoy your spring break.

I like the light and dark contrast of your block. Enjoy your break, that's the problem with retirement, no spring breaks.

Wahooo - I am comment #10!

Some days are like that - whoosh - they just disappear with not too much to show for it. Just start over the next day.

In truth, you probably accomplished a lot more than you give yourself credit for. 8-))

Hi Carol
I always wondered where Lake Wobegon was (love PHC).
I used to live where there was a very small post office. I often wondered if the mail ladies read my magazines before delivering them to me, as I got them a LOT later than when they appeared at the newsstand.
