Quilt Show: Done and Ready to Hang!

I finished 15 quilts! Tomorrow I will turn them in for hanging in the show. This has been fun. Even though I have complained about doing bindings, in the end it is so gratifying to get lots of quilts done.

These are the last two. I picked them up from my machine quilter today.

This one is a retirement gift from her. I retired in June 2010, but I was told she was making something.. and as a fellow quilter, I did not at all worry about the time lapse. She was stuck on ... guess what... the binding! LOL. That I completely understand. (Oh, I did nothing to this quilt except receive it as a gift. So I probably shouldn't claim that "I made 15 quilts." I am showing 15 quilts, but this one I didn't make, and there's another one that I bought as a flimsy, had quilted and then bound it. You see? 15 starts to be a little less impressive as I explain the details.)

This is a pattern from All Washed Up Quilts. I can't remember the name of this particular pattern. All Washed Up Quilts likes to design quick patterns with big pieces that can showcase large prints (or not) if you desire. I made this one at our guild's fall retreat. Nice to have it done! It's a gift for a friend. I'm kind of disappointed in this picture. The quilt looks so much prettier in person! I guess you'll just all have to come to the show and see lots of gorgeous-ness in front of your eyes. I'll put a link at the end of this post.

Both of these were quilted by my friend Kristin of Moose Country Quilting.

Here's information about our quilt show.

I bet that the vertical fabric has a vibrancy that a small picture can only hint at.

Congratulations on completing the job, BINDINGS and all!

I like the black and white print on the second quilt. Black and white really makes the colors pop.

the name of the All Washed Up pattern is "Five and Dime." Angie & her mother Weezie are the designers there and we love them to bits. Of course with 3 little guys now Angie has less time to design quilts, but does manage to do some machine quilting now and again.
