Landscaping!

We are having some major landscaping done. It'll be so much fun to improve the look of our front yard. It has been a jungle for years.

Here are a couple of "before" and "during" photos. Stay tuned for the "after" -- maybe next spring!

Carol, what is the short red leafy plant in the background of the last picture? I saw it all around when I was in Savage. It is so beautifully red. Is is green and turns red? I loved seeing the trees turn while we were there. Also loved the gas prices! Was $4.39 when we got there and 2 weeks later it was $3.71! Here it was $4.69 today.

BL, that is sumac. It is green, and it turns red in the fall. It also spreads like crazy. I picked baby sumacs out of our front lawn all summer long. I went 200 miles north this weekend and the fall colors were spectacular! So pretty I almost cried!! And I got gas for $2.79 today.
