A Sock Doll

Wow, yesterday I was so wordy! Today I was smarter about maneuvering around the RNC traffic and roadblocks. And I had a better day in general. I sure am liking the cold front that came through! OH, yeah! Let's have this weather for a while now.

I decided to make a doll out of a sock. This is my first-ever attempt. She has really long arms! I wonder how a doll like this would look with NO arms? The arms were kind of a hassle. I had fun braiding her hair, though. Do you think I should make some French knots for eyes, or just leave her face blank?

today I walked 2 miles

I think some simple french knot eyes would make her very personable. She's cute with her long arms! Those are for giving really big hugs.

I have seen sock dolls with the arms just indicated by stitching parallel to the body.Through the stuffed body Gives the impression of arms, with hands in pockets.

I agree with Jo - long arms for big hugs. A couple of French Knots for eyes should do it.

Great fun! and a wonderful looking creation.... I think if the arms were a hassel you could get away without them and stitch along the side of the body as if the arms were hanging straight down, but these one's are great fun to look at :-)

I'm thinking buttons for eyes. You should post a tutorial on how you created your sock doll!
