AQS, Des Moines

You may have noticed I did not post a Friday Books review this week. I simply forgot to plan ahead, and I also was busy preparing for my trip to Iowa. Four of us took a road trip to Des Moines to attend the AQS show. We had a blast! It felt so good to get out of town and blow off my sads. It was just what I needed.

I'll share a few pictures here and more later after I've had a chance to unpack, do the laundry, and catch my breath.

We stayed in a nice condo which we booked through Airbnb.

Some of the gorgeous quilts:
quilt is by Wendy Read

Sorry, I failed to get the quilt maker's name; I liked how my cousin's clothes kind of matched the quilt. She was not posing but was reacting favorably to the explosive star.

This is me in front of See Rock City by Julie Sefton of Me and My Quilts blog. I love this quilt! It is whimsical and cheerful and beautiful.

I'll show you more photos of awesome quilts later this week. Tonight I have to try to catch up to myself.
