Traveling Stash -- Interested?

A while ago I started a traveling stash box. It has been making its rounds and needs a new home. Could yours be the right one?

This stash box has a focus. We are asking that you use what you pull from the box for charity quilting. The definition of that is up to you, and you don't need to report in. There are no Stash Box Police who will be hunting you down if you happen to use some of the contents of the box for your own purposes. Just generally, if you are interested in using the box contents for charity, at least in part, and interested in sending it on to another like-minded person, then leave a comment here.

Comments received by Friday morning, Feb. 28, will be put in a pot, and I'll draw a name (to be announced on Saturday, March 1). USA only, please. The winner gets the box next. The box actually will come to you from Sally, who does not have a blog. I offered to find the next Stash Box recipient here on my blog. She'll send it on to you.

So go ahead and leave a comment, and we'll see who gets the box next! The box contains fabric, patterns, books, thread and miscellaneous goodies.. I'm not even sure exactly what. I don't have a picture of the stash, but I will show you this quilt top. I used some of what I pulled out of the box in this quilt which will be making its way to Quilts Beyond Borders very soon.

one of the little goodies I pulled out of the box to keep.. isn't it cute?

I make a handful of quilts for charity a year. I would probably get a bug in my butt to do more if I had this stash box if you picked me. But no pressure. I would be happy to add on to the box and send it on when I am done with it, however. I do have my own projects right now which I don't normally do. But I love variety and have a lot of time on my hands.

The little goodie you pulled out of the box reminds looks like my mother's first machine. I learned to sew on that one. And if you add the foot pedal, then you have my grandmother's machine. I sewed on that, too! Thanks for the trip down Grandma and Mother Memory Lane! GG

I have read about the traveling stash box, and often wondered how fun it would be to receive it. I would have taken the little sewing machine too. I have a couple neat sewing machine pieces. My fingers are crossed.

Color me interested! I'm a member of Sunshine so you know I make quilts for QBB and WAS. (I have a box about ready to go for WAS but trying to get a few more quilted and crammed in before I mail) Also make quilts for QOV.

(I also just received a Cotton Robin block from you! You kind of confused me when you used Julie's name and addy as the return address!)

Ok, Carol, I think you should pick one of these other fine women and I will donate to the box instead.

Hi Carol-
I'd like to have a chance to play with the traveling stash box! I do make a lot of quilts for Sunshine, and I'm sure I could find some interesting things to add to some tops!

Hmm not entirely sure why that comment identified me as Rudi -- it's just me, NancyZ in Indiana!

C: Please don't add my name to your drawing. You know I am a knitter. I just wanted to comment on the cute little sewing machine. The drawing sounds like fun and I would like for those who would do better things with the fabric that I could to have the chance. Good luck to the rest, though!
