Quilts for Rosebud

In August I will be traveling with my church to Rosebud Indian Reservation for a work week. Friends have been giving me quilts to donate when I go. Here's what I have gathered so far. (More are on the way. I'll post them as they arrive.)

made by me, but to be honest, I haven't decided for sure if I want to part with this one... it might go and might not.

These four are burial blankets made by me. Because infant mortality is pretty high at Rosebud, they periodically need blankets that the parents can wrap their baby in for burial. These can be pretty simple and require no batting, but they do want a star on the front or middle.

Hi Carol, just me again *VBS*. I'd love to join in the RoseBud effort. I've been wondering when you were going ever since you first mentioned it.
I have some tops I can turn into quilts fairly quickly, of various sizes...perfect for Rosebud I think, and I also have some orphan star blocks. Great use for them. So if it's ok, I'll make a couple of the burial blankets also.
Thanks for being such a caring individual*VBS* Hugs, Finn

Carol,
The quilts look wonderful! Thank you for explaining about the need for burial quilts and the custom of having a star on them.
I would be reluctant to part with your heart quilt, it certainly is a beautiful expression of love.

I'd also like to know more about the burial blankets. It looks like they're typically square, from what you've shown. How big? Do you need (or want) more?
