A 452-Photos-Vacation
I'm home! We had a wonderful time on our vacation. I took 452 photos!!! I'll be sorting through them for a while. The highlight was the sea-kayaking we did on Lake Superior. That was really fun! We kayaked under a waterfall, and at the end we dipped ourselves into the lake. Luckily we had on wet suits, as the water was about 40 degrees F. Those wet suits are amazing. It was fun swimming in a lake that is known for being too cold to swim in. I didn't take my camera on the kayaking trip for fear I'd drop it in the drink, so I have no photos of the great event.
obviously we didn't starve on this trip
many moods of Lake Superior
I took along my FW but did very little sewing while there. I hope I can catch up to the sewing I had wanted to accomplish while on vacation. I did visit two quilt shops and came home with some nice fabrics for my stash. Now it's back to the real world, and I think I'm ready to tackle real life after getting rejuventated on the North Shore!

Carol...what a great looking vacation! I need to do that sometime...We are going to Mt Rushmore... looking forward to it but I am sure it will be pretty touristy! Haha
Carol, looks like a fabulous trip. It's always wonderful to go somewhere new especially in a naturally beautiful setting.
Welcome home. Sounds as if you had a great trip and I love that first photo.
The photo of the quilt shop made me laugh. There ought to be a rule that diy shops be built next to quilt shops, thus keeping the husband's happy!
Gorgeous photos! From here, I can hear the water rushing...and I can smell the clean, crisp, cold air. Oh...and what's that? I think I hear shreeks from the kayak....
I would love to take my family there someday. If you get a chance...would you mind sharing the lodge that you retreated to? (Pretty please? With sugar on top?) It's always nice to go by someone's first hand knowledge...instead of just internet pics.
Glad you're home, safe. I'm starting to quilt the "Love" quilt today!!!
Speaking as a person who has lost 2 camera's to a lake, not taking your camera was a very good idea! Looks like a great trip!
When I was a youngster one summer our vacation consisted of driving the perimeter of Lake Superior. I can say that I have swum in that water, without benefit of wet suit, and lived to tell the tale! (As I recall we (I and my three siblings) stayed pretty close to shore and didn't stay in very long! *And* we were pretty disappointed to be forced out of the water so soon!)
