Ka-Powie!

My life has gone from Quiet to Whamm-O in an instant. I always forget how busy May can be.

This morning we had a fun 4.5-mile walk at work, to raise money for Pennies for Peace. It was a beautiful day for a walk. 20 students signed up, and six showed up, but the numbers didn't bother me. It was beautiful, and we had a good walk. This year we were able to raise almost $400 for Pennies for Peace. I'm proud of our students and their work on this project!

This week I have meetings coming out my ears.. several regarding my upcoming retirement, plus the usual church and other organization meetings that fill an average week.

We have a concert coming up, dinner out to celebrate Mother's Day, a waffle breakfast with family, a lunch out to celebrate nephew's graduation from medical school (wow!), special events at work, birthdays coming up... an endless string of events and plans and dates and times to keep straight. Luckily, I am good at using my calendars and planner. I would die without them.

I have quilts to make, quilts to finish, and quilts to catch up on. I still have not finished the quilt for my nephew who graduated a year ago, and this year's graduations are fast approaching.

And now there is a new project to which I want to donate quilts. Please read the new button on my sidebar: BumbleBeans Basics Quilt Gather. An organization in New York helps people transition from homeless into a home, and they would love to have quilts to welcome the families into their new homes. They need 700 quilts!! So they need MANY HANDS to make LIGHT WORK of providing that many quilts. Can you help? Please follow the link and read about it. They have some quick pattern ideas, and some contests and prizes, too. Fun, fun, fun!

I'm adding the project to my long list of "things to do, attend, make, read, create, and finish."
