Creating Quilts
Lately I have played around with new ideas. I used the very fun pieced letters from Tonya's web site. I'll list the address from her site soon. It's not currently at my finger tips.
I made this house block which is a pattern called Wonky Houses by Carol Morrissey. I liked the house so much, I decided to make it into a wall hanging. Tonya's letters were the perfect addition, I thought. I still need practice on them, but they were loads of fun to play with. What do you think?? My husband and daughter looked at it somewhat askance. I'm still going to hang it up in my house, though. I love it!
The next thing I made is a whale fashioned after Tlingit Indian art. I'm not fond of doing applique work the "real" way, so I follow my own rules. This is my Tlingit-inspired whale:
All that creativity wore me out. Now I lay me down to sleep! G'night, all.

I think your letters look awesome - perfect just as they are. My hubby looks askance at most of my work so I just make it for me.
Your whale is very powerful and strong.
The house is great, but I really love the whale!
The welcome quilt looks great! I love the way you spread the word over 2 lines ... that's such a fun look!
